Calling Arizona home, Sven Olson, "Sveno", lives with his wife and daughter, Katya. They enjoy the near constant sunshine, but also love to travel and enjoy the beautiful seasons that so many other places provide. Prior to moving to Arizona, Sveno lived in Kyiv, Ukraine where he met and fell in love with Iryna, and they were married in 2012. Sveno served as the Bilateral Affairs Officer at the US Embassy in Ukraine for three years.
Sveno retired from the military after 27 years in the Army National Guard, which included 12 overseas tours of duty, and emergency response duty to forest fires, floods, earthquakes and hurricanes. He and Iryna have a non-profit that is supporting the rebuilding of Ukraine and they each keep busy as consultants in their chosen areas of expertise. Sveno is now passionate about serving students, veterans and their families. He has two sons, each of whom he is very proud, one a teacher and Captain in the Army National Guard and one that is a student at the University of Arizona. Sveno and Iryna own several small businesses, volunteer extensively across the community and they both serve on leadership boards for organizations that they care deeply about.
